高地昏云暗，松间鹭鸟飞。
荒坡孤履客，微汗解行衣。
Over the Presidio dusk clouds are dark
Through pine trees a heron is startled to dart
On the barren slope is trekking a lone hiker
Slightly sweating, he unties his hiking sweater

I don’t kowtow to high officials, nor do I pray at the hearth
Books and verses bring me enough comfort as I age
Crystal clear, my heart is boundless as heaven and earth
I plough the land of poetry to dominate the poet stage
不磕头高官，不在炉边祈祷
诗书给我慰藉，伴我变老
冰心一片容得下天阔地远
辛勤耕耘在诗坛屹立不倒
