许多动物的中文翻译很不科学，似是而非。
我又做了些功课：这个“美洲豹”（Jaguar）还真的归于“豹属”（Panthera）。那么“美洲豹是不是豹？”就成了一个问题。它应该算是豹，但和非洲豹、金钱豹的关系非常远了。
如此看来，“美洲豹”的中文翻译还不算离谱，而“美洲狮”（Cougar）就差得远了。
