最近做成一件事情：将伊甸文苑网站整个地克隆（不是备份）到了家里的电脑主机
上，作为镜像系统，运用现今流行的网络技术 LAMP（Linux＋Apache＋MySQL
＋PHP）。这事想了几年了，一直没顾得上，主要是时间精力有限。现在终于如愿
以偿。

此项工程的作用及意义：

（１）网站的系统安稳性得到了进一步的保证，比如万一伊甸空间商遭到９１１那
样的天灾人祸，网站也可以很快在另一家空间商恢复。技术上没有问题。

（２）论坛的日、周、月备份可按时置于镜像系统上检验，以确保其正确无误。没
有经过实践检验的电脑备份不是百分之百地可靠。

（３）论坛的界面、功能测试，从此可以在镜像系统上进行，而不影响、威胁论坛
的正常运转。镜像系统上测试成了，再将结果运用到空间商的主机，也即实际网站
上去。

I setup daily, weekly and monthly backup for both the web and its database by using tar and mysqldump, then download them manually to the home system. Now the home system is not a 'live mirror'. I will set auto ftp to download backup files from the web host and restore them to the home system automatically. However it will depend on if the web host allows its customers using auto ftp. To make the home system a live mirror, there are still lots of works to do.

'that will be a lot of traffic on your home line' is one issue. Another potential problem is that the web host probably won't allow me to do it.
