This point has some valid substance despite its slap in the face. And reasons behind such phenomenon is complex. Could be lack of sense of security. Could be flashback memories of those "human fighting/backstabbing/struggling" in working places in certain places or culture. Could be the repulsiveness created from intense competition among Chinese. Could be stress from all above. Nonetheless, it is not a pretty thing.
However, when you look at the employment in the academic field or small-businesses, there emmerges a different picture. Chinese bosses tend to hire Chinese subordinates. Does it mean an ethnic unity? probably not. I think it is about low pay and high-pressure with less complaint and demand.
When you look at ethnic Chinese employers who are not from Asia but educated and influenced heavily by western ideology, they might act quite differently from those west-residing Chinese who picked up their "old brains" from China and never opened "skulls" afterwards. Again, the latter loves backstabbing and being "little/miniature persons".
