#1 Chicago Impression
Chicago Impression
As the dancing spring vanished
The fair city was ready to retire.
The pale street lights flashed,
Glimmering like timid dozy fire.
Dark wrapped the lake till morn,
Immersed, I heard its breathing -
A dream perished, another reborn,
The waves alive in rising 'n falling.
Along the wondrous lakeshore,
Chicago, stretch your longitude.
Tonight I roam o'er you to moor,
Let the sleepless rest in solitude.
