Instar


I know nothing about the end
Of this becoming
The vast blueness of sky
Makes me drowsy

My cocoon home is broken
I cannot go back to it –
It’s a home I have outgrown

Hanging in the bare air
I am waiting, with awkwardness, with pain
Swinging between my dark sleep
And the bright awakening
I am waiting

Patiently waiting
For my wings to emerge
For they’ll bring the vastness close to me
Till then I shall know what I am:
A pretty winged creature

When a burning penetrates me
When a beam of light cuts me open
With two beautiful wings
The air will be filled with my joyous motions

Ah! How much sufferings one has to endure
To become so beautiful!
