刚看完电影 Invictus 回来，太棒了。不喜欢橄榄球的人也会喜欢这电影的，因为这是关于曼德拉通过橄榄球赛促进和解与民族团结的故事，真实的故事，改编自小说 Playing the Enemy。我教翻译时用过有关材料，对此事比较熟悉。尽管知道结果，看电影时还是很激动，感到悬念式的紧张。Eastwood, Freeman 和 Damon 都是炉火纯青，这次 Morgan Freeman 要是不得奖，我就再也不看奥斯卡了。电影的题目，可能有人不熟悉，是拉丁文，意思是“不可征服”。电影引用了一首诗，转抄如下：

我试译如下：
不可征服
漆黑的夜晚笼罩我吧，
横跨极地笼罩着天涯，
我感谢神明，无论祂是谁，
让我的灵魂不屈从重压。
虽然落入逆境残暴的利爪，
我没有喊叫，眼睛也不眨。
任凭厄运的棍棒击打，
我满头是血，但头没有低下。
盘坐在愤怒和眼泪之处，
只有恐惧的阴影，别无其它，
但面对着歹毒无情的岁月，
我无畏并将永远无所惧怕。
无论牢狱的门有多么窄狭，
无论判决书上有什么惩罚，
我是我自己命运的主宰，
我是我自己灵魂的船家。

廖教译得不错，韵也押得好。
