COUNSEL TO GIRLS.

     Gather ye rose-buds while ye may,
       Old Time is still a-flying:
     And this same flower that smiles to-day,
       To-morrow will be dying.

劝女歌

玫瑰堪採直须採，流光飞驰不汝待。
鲜花今日笑颜在，明日花谢艳色衰。

     The glorious Lamp of Heaven, the Sun,
       The higher he's a-getting
     The sooner will his race be run,
       And nearer he's to setting.

天灯辉煌红太阳，步步登高在天上。
俄而行程即告终，掉头回落从天降。

     That age is best which is the first,
       When youth and blood are warmer,
     But being spent, the worse, and worst
       Times, still succeed the former.

青春热血少年时，正是人生最佳日。
一旦良辰消耗尽，生不如死行如尸。

     Then be not coy, but use your time;
       And while ye may, go marry:
     For having lost but once your prime,
       You may for ever tarry.

善用良宵莫装腔，抓紧机会做新娘。
美色不用妄为人，莫做剩女夜漏长。

有趣的劝女诗。 多谢方老师分享好译。请教，Coy可以理解为害羞的意思吗？

For having lost but once your prime  青春只不过一响
You may for ever tarry.                   一旦剩了便抓瞎

coy 有点欲迎还拒的意思。coy

    (especially with reference to a woman) making a pretense of shyness or modesty that is intended to be alluring.
