My memory
About her
Is fading away
Slowly, drifty

Her face
No longer clear
Her voice
Becoming a whisper

I tried harder
Slipping into the past
In the genuine warmth
Of her hug

I can hear
The words she says
I can see
The smile she wears

I can feel
Her standing by
In my sorrow
In my joy

Only if I can
Be with her once again
Immerse in her breath
Heal my pain

Even that takes
The rest of the time away
But all I need
Is the chance to say goodbye
