Green and blue threads, how bright is the color
Everyone loves Blue Flower a treasured daughter
Of all the crops in the field, only sorghum is tall
Blue Flower is the best of the country's girls all
In the first month matchmaker came to the door
In the second month her betrothing became the lore
In the third month handsome money was delivered
In the fourth month she was not the girl of the poor
Trumpets they blew and gongs they beat harder
She entered the Zhou house without her lover
On leaving the sedan she looked around
A ghostly old man she unhappily found
Well she thought if you were to die better die quick
Right after you die I'll my lover seek
With mutton in hand and some other food
She ran to her lover's home as fast as she could
Seeing her lover she had so much to say
Dead or alive we two must together stay

To join you on many mountain roads my donkey has to trot
When elm trees are blooming their branches are many
You have more clever schemes than I can see

(I wrote the Chinese part first. This one was inspired by my other piece talking about my feelings toward Chinese New Year's Eve (Feb.7 ) Chinese New Year Eve is the time for family members to go home and have dinner together, just like Christmas in the western culture. Things are so different since my mother and grandmother passed away...)
