I strove with none, for none was worth my strife.
Nature I loved and, next to Nature, Art:
I warm'd both hands before the fire of life;
It sinks, and I am ready to depart.
原诗分析，翻译：
1. 原诗的形式是齐整的：四行，每行十个音节，押尾韵。
2. Strove with none，是不与任何东西相争的意思。主要指人，也即社会，与下面的大自然和艺术相对。
