#1  Amy Lee: 她有着一种切割灵魂的声音

Editorial Reviews - Amazon.com

The Daredevil soundtrack provided a nice boost for this previously unknown quartet from Little Rock, Arkansas. Evanescence’s songs "My Immortal" and the imposing "Bring Me to Life" are clear standouts in the film, mainly because they work so well with the dramatic, eerie undertones of the storyline. They reappear here on the band’s debut, alongside a selection of similarly brooding tracks that evoke pensive artists like Tori Amos and the Cranberries. Vocalist Amy Lee has the kind of voice that can cause weeks of insomnia, but on songs like "Tourniquet" and "Haunted" she belies the music’s sinister mood with evenhanded spirituality, thoughtfully letting some light shine through the tempest. --Aidin Vaziri

Launch: Evanescence was formed in Little Rock, Arkansas - 1999

Meaning: Evanescence (ev'e-nes'ens ): a dissipation or disappearance like vapor

Brief History:
Co-founders Lee and guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody met while in their early teens. "We were at a youth camp," Moody recalls. "During some sort of recreational period held in a gymnasium, I heard Amy playing Meat Loaf's I'd Do Anything for Love at the piano. So I went over to meet her, and she started singing for me. I was pretty much blown away, so I suckered her into joining a band with me." Since that day, the musical relationship has remained dependably loyal. "We have the same exact vision regarding what we love about music," Moody says. "When it comes to songwriting, we finish each other's thoughts."

Evanescence first took shape in Little Rock at the end of the '90s. Predictably, the band didn't quite fit the mold of most others lingering around the Midwestern state. "It's typically death metal or really soft, older-people music there," says Lee. "I don't even know of any local bands that have female singers."

Influenced by a wide-ranging collection of artists such as Bjork, Danny Elfman and Tori Amos, the band started releasing EPs of its material. Even without the benefit of live performances, Evanescence began to establish a reputation.

"A lot of it developed by being elusive," Moody remembers. "The second song we ever wrote was this seven-minute, ridiculous Goth anthem called Understanding. And for some reason, the local rock station decided to play it a lot. We gained this popularity around town, even though no one knew who we were or where to find us. It was because we could never afford to play a show -- it was just Amy and I -- and we couldn't pay any musicians."

Fallen was tracked in Los Angeles with producer Dave Fortman (BOYSETSFIRE, Superjoint Ritual). The album successfully finds that intangible balance between lush beauty and primal heaviness. Typical of the record is the first single, Bring Me To Life, a piano ballad-turned-riff-driven barnburner. Highlighted by a guest vocal from Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, the song is featured prominently in the Daredevil film and soundtrack.

Wider Biography:
If you've seen the hit movie Daredevil you've heard a Little Rock band that is making it's way up the Billboard Charts! That's right, the group Evanescence is actually from Little Rock, AR! Their song, "Bring Me To Life" off their album "Fallen" was chosen to be featured on the soundtrack of the latest Ben Affleck hit.

Ben Moody and Amy Lee, the founders of the group, actually met at a church youth camp when they were teenagers. Moody was playing with a praise and worship group and Lee was a camper. According to Moody, he heard Lee playing the piano and later heard her singing. He was blown away and they have been together ever since.

The actual band was started in the late 1990s in Little Rock. They've had a large local following since the beginning. Their song "Understanding" got radio play before the two ever did any live performances.

Their latest single, "Bring Me To Life," is a "piano ballad-turned-riff-driven barnburner." Amy Lee's voice is like something I've never heard before. The song is definitely worth a listen and perfect for the movie "Daredevil". The song "My Immortal" is also featured on the "Daredevil" soundtrack. I imagine we'll hear more from Evanescence in the coming months.

Interestingly enough, even though the group started out as Christian Rock, their new album has gotten some criticism from Christian groups. Some groups even went as far as to suggest Christian stores and radio stations pull the cds. The group also seems to be trying to distance itself from the Christian genre and go into the more lucrative secular market. Perhaps "Fallen" is the perfect name for the album!

Rounding out the duo of Lee and Moody are John LeCompt on guitar and Rocky Gray on drums. Moody says, "As a four-piece, we are able to carry out the intricate harmonies and orchestrations of the memorable material on Fallen."

Amy Lee

Amy Lynn Lee (born December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California) is an American singer and songwriter. She founded the band Evanescence with Ben Moody. The two met at a youth camp when Lee was playing Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (but I Won't Do That)" on the piano.

Amy Lee at the 2003 Billboard Music Awards wearing a corsetHer father (John Lee) works as a DJ, and her mother (Sarah Lee) works raising Lee's three siblings: her brother Robby and her two sisters, Carrie and Lori. Amy had a third sister who died at the young age of 3 due to an unknown cause, and the song Hello from the Fallen album was written in her memory. [1] At school, Lee was president of the choir council, and appeared in a number of plays. She has never had professional voice lessons, but she is a mezzo-soprano singer and could have been a soprano if she had taken voice lessons. She has had classical piano lessons which she took for ten years. Her family moved to many places, including Illinois, Kansas, and Florida, but finally settled in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Evanescence started. She graduated from Pulaski Academy in the year 2000. She also briefly attended Middle Tennessee State University.

Image
Lee has a trademark neo-goth style, marked by her occasional use of gothic make-up and taste for Victorian-styled clothing. She is known to design her own clothes and even sews them herself. Starting her own clothing line has not been ruled out, according to her, although she has expressed concerns about the viability of such an endeavor; she has said that she prefers to create unique hand-crafted costumes rather than mass-produced fashions. In concerts, she often wears a corset or fishnet, and has a notable piercing on her left eyebrow which is visible on the cover of Fallen (Evanescence's debut album).

Many fans praise Lee for her refusal to emulate other celebrities by using sex appeal in her music. She has stated on a number of occasions that she would never flash her breasts or engage in other publicity stunts which would draw attention to herself. In fact, in the music video for "Everybody's Fool," she aimed to mock such artists by suggesting celebrities who use sex to appeal to an audience are "everybody's fool" and are in fact, merely peddling "lies" (the unifying theme of the music video).

Lee once stated in an interview while on tour that the successful duet "Bring Me to Life", featuring Paul McCoy of 12 Stones, was inspired when she met a friend of a friend: a total stranger who did not know her, yet could somehow "see inside her." When he spoke, his words "woke her up inside." This encounter with a true "Word of Knowledge" inspired the hit that would launch her career.

"Out of The Shadows" Campaign
Amy has become a spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation and has launched a campaign called "Out of the Shadows". The goal is to help spread awareness about epilepsy and to show others that people with it deserve to be treated fairly and not be discriminated against. This campaign is important to Amy, as well as her family, because her younger brother has epilepsy and she has seen first hand the effect it has.

Other projects
She is featured on the hit Seether track "Broken" (a duet with ex-boyfriend Shaun Morgan), which is featured on their album Disclaimer II as well as the soundtrack for the 2004 film The Punisher.

Lee was working on the opening theme of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and was writing additional music for the film, but her music was rejected due to it being too dark and epic for the movie.

However, Amy has been quoted as saying that the material she didn't use for the movie is just more material for the new album, which is entitled "The Open Door", confirmed by Rocky Gray's wife after the title ran in the May 2006 issue of the music magazine Blender. The album is slated to be released on Oct 3, confirmed by Wind-Up Records and the official Evanescence website, www.evanescence.com.

Amy 野妞风采如何?

这段录影很不错,气氛场面都出来了,但可惜录音效果没跟上,音响太弱了,远不
如CD里的。

2000后的流行加速“疯狂”,80,90年代的还是挺“文雅”的,可以先试试看。
