一年又是花期了，收拾知多少。残枝败叶落秋风，故国依稀夜半梦游中。往年旧友应犹在，只是容颜改。问余身老哪厢留，白首不堪观镜绪千愁。

隔壁老陈声未落，沉甸已现塑胶袋。自言本是夫人做，送与同仁乐开怀。
拨开碧衣视白玉，玲珑剔透西施赛。手捧把玩不忍噬，溢香流脂脾胃开。
一口糯软暖败牙，二口肉香江南来。三口半壁河山尽，四口余味难得衰。
食罢不由起自怜，佳节难得佳人爱。孑孑海外一游子，白发更添百事哀

八月秋高金轮俏，光洒庭院影绰绰。月上中天不动了，惊现篱笆断头梢，急趋近前瞧一瞧。原来邻童欺我上班去，常学无赖太尉高。公然街头踢球玩，误将飞弹入我巢。必曾翻篱回收之。篱老骨裂未曾料。前日归家见桶倾，心中诧异竟何事。定是断篱不得入，绕至矮门复入之。再忆前月下班来，半片篱板委于地。曾见小儿无聊紧，攀篱上墙显能奇。为免人伤遭讼事，挂牌警告篱笆弱。自此该侧安无恙，谁料正面墙又破。我自无暇监守之，菩萨前头默合十：安得拦网高万丈，大筑我家球防若金汤，任你高逑逞凶狂。呜呼，何时眼前突兀见此网，吾庐安然小儿与我俱欢畅！

昔日高考辞京走，寒窗讲台十二秋。邙山古冢几为家，命运多变梦未酬。
转业故地人篱下，一日去国不回头。觅得番营打工仔，偏安一隅迷魂酒。
稀里糊涂十二载，对镜青丝已白头。日暮乡关无处寻，国王山上无限愁。
Once upon a time I left the Capital after the college entrance test
12 years then I spent in study and teaching
I almost set up a home neighboring the ancient tombs in Mount Mang
But life's vicissitudes rendered my dream broken
A change to career in the Capital put me under other's roof
When I left the country, I decided not to return
Finally I landed a job in a foreign camp
At this place I drank the wine of oblivion
Muddle-headed I spent another 12 years here already
And my black hair has turned gray in the mirror
At dusk I look around and nowhere can I see my hometown
On the mount of rey there is nothing but sadness and sorrow.

The Love Song of Monterey
In the raging fire of the War.
A POW was thrown into bondage
Locked up on a base in California
His life was dull and meaningless
Kindly the authority granted
Host family weekends for POWs
Through the maze of Italian kins
He found a stranger's family
All he cared was a good meal
And none like a romantic deal
Yet there was a curious pretty girl
Who came to see this enemy POW
At first sight they fell in love
At the second none wanted to part
At the third they promised secret dates
At the fourth they vowed a life of union

回忆一九八九年，正是初夏艳阳天。皇城广场烟云起，热血青年吁政廉。
余在中州请伪假，乘车回乡情事观。纪念碑前旗如海，长安道上人如川。
学生宿舍十九空，只见人去未见还。高阳之下多病体，救护车啸揪心肝。
赤子之心荃不察，一纸社论定动乱。销假回豫时未久，兵临城下虎视眈。
俄尓坦克卷残营，央视高调战报传。一时肃杀秋霜降，审的审来关的关。
新生入学先军训，思想解放成空谈。次年解甲还旧地，纪念碑上锁栏杆。
依稀旧时花圈影，寂寞更因碎梦残。

In the dark night I felt at a loss
So I steamed a fish course
Into the wok I poured some water
That covered less than half its measure
On the china plate I put vegetables

Dark as ink is the sky when big wind blows
A tall tree bends, its crown downward goes
Black waves surge in the ocean down the hill
Burdened by the clouds, the sky seems to fall
My shabby abode across the bay is walled coldness
My aging heart harbors nothing but emptiness
Looking down at the ocean I never stop to sigh

去年今日此店中，人面店招相映红。
人面如今何处去，店招依旧红彤彤。
人事代谢谁能料，莫求空口山海盟。
对面尚且不牵手，遑论虚拟世界中。
Last year today at this store
Her face the store signs' color
Where is she now I do not know
The signs are as red as one year ago
Who can foretell the vicissitudes of life
Seeking a vow is but a futile strife
While thou shunst the hand in front of thy face
How desirest thou a bond from another place?
